Description

These Apple & Carrot Hard Bones are a wholesome and delicious treat for your furry friend. Made with natural ingredients, these crunchy dog biscuits are perfect for supporting your dog’s dental health and providing a tasty reward.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium apple (peeled, cored, and grated)
  • 1 medium carrot (peeled and finely grated)
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, grated apple, and carrot.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and peanut butter.
  4. Combine wet and dry: Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until a firm dough forms.
  5. Knead and roll: Knead the dough on a floured surface, then roll it out and cut into bone shapes.
  6. Bake: Place the bones on the baking sheet and bake for 35–40 minutes until firm and golden brown.
  7. Cool: Let the bones cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Be sure to remove all apple seeds before grating, as they are toxic to dogs.
  • These treats are very firm and help support dental health through chewing.
  • For smaller dogs, consider shaping into mini bones or breaking into smaller pieces after baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
