Description

These Apple & Cranberry Dog Dental Sticks are a tasty and healthy homemade treat for your furry friend. Made with wholesome ingredients like fresh apples, dried cranberries, whole wheat flour, and natural peanut butter, these sticks are perfect for promoting good dental health in dogs.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sticks:

  • 1 cup finely chopped apple (peeled and cored)
  • ½ cup dried unsweetened cranberries (chopped)
  • 1¾ cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, chopped apple, and cranberries.
  3. Prepare wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together peanut butter, egg, and water.
  4. Combine and knead: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  5. Shape and bake: Roll out the dough to ½-inch thickness and cut into stick shapes. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes until firm and golden.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the sticks to cool completely before offering them to your dog.

Notes

  • Choose unsweetened dried cranberries without added sugars or sweeteners.
  • For fresher breath, roll sticks in finely chopped parsley before baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer shelf life.
