For rolling:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cream Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat butter, apple butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla extract.
- Combine and Bake: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until combined. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture, place on baking sheets, and bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Cool and Enjoy: Let cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

- For extra apple flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice to the dough.
