Puff Pastry:

- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Vanilla Custard:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for custard)
- 4 large egg yolks
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for custard)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Additional:
- powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Prepare Puff Pastry: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry, cut into rectangles, bake until golden.
- Cook Apple Filling: Sauté apples with sugar and cinnamon until tender. Set aside to cool.
- Make Vanilla Custard: Heat milk, whisk egg yolks with sugar and cornstarch, combine and cook until thickened. Stir in butter and vanilla, chill.
- Assemble: Layer puff pastry, custard, and apples. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
