Description

Enjoy the bold flavors of this Authentic Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry recipe that brings the essence of Chinese cuisine right to your table. Tender slices of flank steak, crisp broccoli, and a savory sauce come together in a delicious stir fry that’s perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the beef:

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

For the stir fry:

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (for sauce)
  • Cooked white rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef: In a medium bowl, combine sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce: Whisk together 2 tablespoons soy sauce, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cornstarch with ¼ cup water.
  3. Stir fry: Cook broccoli in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil until tender. Cook marinated beef, then add garlic and ginger. Return broccoli, pour in sauce, and cook until thickened.
  4. Serve: Serve hot over rice.

Notes

  • For best results, freeze the beef for 20 minutes before slicing for easier, thinner cuts.
  • You can substitute chicken or tofu for the beef if desired.
