Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 8 ounces ground beef
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Tortacos and Cheese
- 8 flour tortillas
- 4–8 cheddar cheese slices
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 16 pickles
Special Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- ½ tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the beef.
- Portion the Meat: Divide the burger mixture into 4 equally sized balls for convenience and even cooking.
- Spread Meat on Tortillas: Spread each ground beef ball evenly over a tortilla, leaving some of the tortilla exposed around the edges. Season with salt or taco seasoning if desired.
- Make Special Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper until smooth. Set aside.
- Prepare the Workstation: Lay out the tortillas, cheese, sauce, lettuce, and toppings for easy and organized assembly.
- Cook the Meat on Skillet or Griddle: Preheat a large griddle or skillet over high heat. Place the meat-covered side of the tortilla down and firmly smash the beef with a spatula or burger press until thin and evenly spread. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the beef is browned and crispy.
- Flip and Add Cheese: Using a spatula or bench scraper, carefully flip the tortilla. Reduce heat to medium and immediately top each with cheddar cheese so it melts over the beef.
- Assemble the Tacos: Top each cheesy beef taco with shredded lettuce and pickles. Add your desired amount of the prepared special sauce and any other favorite toppings.
- Serve: Serve your Big Mac Tacos hot, arranged on a serving plate for immediate enjoyment.
Notes
- Use fresh ground beef and avoid overworking the meat for tender results.
- For extra flavor, you can add finely diced onions or a sprinkle of sesame seeds on the tortillas before cooking.
- The special sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- If you want a lower-fat version, use reduced-fat mayonnaise and cheese.
- Serve immediately after cooking as the tortillas can become soggy if left too long.
