Brown Sugar Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add Cream: Slowly stir in the heavy cream and continue to cook, stirring frequently, for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Finish: Remove from heat and stir in the salt and vanilla extract. Let the caramel sauce cool for 10–15 minutes before using. It will thicken more as it cools.
Add the brown sugar and stir constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble, about 2–3 minutes.
