Ingredients
Scale
Tater Tots
- 24 ounces Tater Tots (Use frozen or homemade tater tots)
Chicken & Sauce
- 2 cups Shredded Cooked Chicken (Substitute with shredded rotisserie chicken for convenience)
- 1 cup Buffalo Wing Sauce (Adjust the amount based on heat preference)
Cheese & Dressing
- 1 cup Colby Cheddar Cheese (Monterey Jack can be used for a different taste)
- 1/2 cup Blue Cheese (Fontina or goat cheese can substitute for a milder flavor)
- 1/2 cup Blue Cheese Dressing (Use ranch dressing for a milder option)
Garnishes
- 1/4 cup Scallions (Chives can be used as a substitute)
- 1 stalk Celery (Omit if not preferred; use bell peppers as an alternative)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven according to the tater tots package instructions, usually between 425°F to 450°F, to ensure the tots get crispy and golden brown.
- Bake Tater Tots: Spread the tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until they are crispy and golden on the outside.
- Prepare Buffalo Chicken: While the tots bake, combine the shredded cooked chicken with the buffalo wing sauce in a mixing bowl. Toss well to coat all the chicken evenly with the sauce.
- Assemble Totchos: Once the tater tots are done baking, layer them on a baking sheet. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the tots, then sprinkle the colby cheddar cheese on top.
- Melt Cheese: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese on top has melted fully.
- Add Dressing and Garnishes: Remove from oven and immediately drizzle the blue cheese dressing over the totchos. Sprinkle crumbled blue cheese, diced scallions, and chopped celery on top for added crunch and flavor.
- Serve: Serve the buffalo chicken totchos hot and fresh for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute rotisserie chicken for cooked shredded chicken to save time.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo wing sauce based on your heat tolerance.
- To make it milder, use ranch dressing instead of blue cheese dressing and consider substituting blue cheese with fontina or goat cheese.
- Omit celery or replace with bell peppers if preferred.
- For a different cheese flavor, Monterey Jack can replace Colby cheddar cheese.
