Description

Indulge in the delightful combination of caramelized apples, creamy vanilla pudding, and sweet caramel sauce nestled in individual graham cracker crusts or mini dessert cups.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Caramelized Apples:

  • 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

For the Vanilla Pudding Mixture:

  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup whipped topping

Additional:

  • 6 individual graham cracker crusts or mini dessert cups
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • Extra whipped topping and chopped pecans for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the Apples: In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook for 5-7 minutes until tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Vanilla Pudding: In a bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Fold in the whipped topping until smooth.
  3. Assemble the Dessert Cups: Spoon pudding mixture into each crust/cup. Top with caramelized apples, drizzle with caramel sauce, and garnish with whipped topping and pecans. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can make the caramelized apples ahead and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
  • Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples are recommended for a balanced flavor.
