Ingredients
Scale
Ground Beef
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Quesadilla Assembly
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions (optional)
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 2 tablespoons butter
Optional Garnish
- Extra ketchup
- Mustard
- Thousand Island dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 6–7 minutes. Drain excess fat. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, and mustard. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Quesadillas: Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a little butter. Place one tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese, add a portion of the beef mixture, then top with onions, pickles, and another 1/2 cup cheese. Place a second tortilla on top and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
- Serve: Slice into wedges and serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can swap cheddar for American cheese for a more “classic burger” flavor.
- Add bacon or jalapeños for extra flavor.
