Ingredients
Scale
Meat Mixture
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 Tablespoon dried minced onion (or 1/2 cup chopped fresh onion)
- 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings
- 6 slices American cheese
- 12 dinner rolls
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the ground beef mixture.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the lean ground beef, dried minced onion (or fresh chopped onion), seasoning salt, and black pepper. Mix all ingredients thoroughly to evenly distribute the seasonings throughout the meat.
- Form and Bake Meat: Press the seasoned meat mixture evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink in the center. Expect some shrinkage of the meat during baking.
- Drain Grease and Add Cheese: Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven and pour out the accumulated grease. Lay the slices of American cheese evenly over the top of the cooked meat. Return the dish to the oven for an additional 2 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Cut and Assemble Sliders: Remove the dish from the oven and cut the cheesy meat into 12 equal squares. Place each square onto the bottom half of the dinner rolls. Top with your favorite cheeseburger condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Cover with the top halves of the rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
- If preferred, fresh chopped onion can be used in place of dried minced onion for a more pronounced onion flavor.
- Drain grease carefully to reduce excess fat and make the sliders less greasy.
- Feel free to customize sliders with additional toppings like lettuce, tomato, or bacon for variety.
- To keep sliders warm before serving, cover them loosely with foil.
- Use fresh, soft dinner rolls for best slider texture and taste.
