  • Extra granulated sugar for rolling

  • 24 Hershey’s Kisses (milk chocolate or cherry cordial)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the egg, maraschino cherry juice, and almond extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in Cherries: Gently fold in the chopped maraschino cherries.
  7. Form Dough Balls: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls. Roll each ball in extra granulated sugar to coat.
  8. Bake: Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are set.
  9. Add Kisses: Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  10. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
