For the Sauce:
- 1 cup orange juice (preferably fresh)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Toss chicken with cornstarch and flour, dip in beaten eggs, and fry until golden brown.
- Make the Sauce: Combine orange juice, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, zest, and spices in a saucepan. Thicken with cornstarch slurry.
- Coat the Chicken: Toss fried chicken in sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
