Cookie Layer:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Make the Brownie Layer: Combine melted butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, then mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Pour into the pan.
- Prepare the Cookie Layer: Beat softened butter with sugars, add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips. Spoon over the brownie layer.
- Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out slightly moist.
- Cool and Serve: Cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
