  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Brownie Layer: Combine melted butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, then mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Pour into the pan.
  3. Prepare the Cookie Layer: Beat softened butter with sugars, add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips. Spoon over the brownie layer.
  4. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out slightly moist.
