Description

Delicious and chewy Chocolate Granola Bars packed with oats, cocoa, nuts, and chocolate chips. These bars are perfect for a quick snack or breakfast on the go, combining wholesome ingredients and a rich chocolate flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup almond butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the granola bars.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, cocoa powder, and salt thoroughly.
  3. Heat Wet Ingredients: In a small saucepan, gently heat the honey and almond butter together, stirring until both have melted and combined into a smooth liquid mixture.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Pour the warm honey and almond butter mixture over the dry oat mixture and stir well until all the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
  5. Add Mix-Ins: Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  6. Press Into Pan: Grease a baking dish and firmly press the granola mixture into it, creating an even layer.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the bars are set and slightly firm to the touch.
  8. Cool and Cut: Allow the granola bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into 12 bars for serving.

Notes

  • Pressing the mixture firmly into the pan helps the bars hold together better after baking.
  • You can substitute almond butter with peanut butter if preferred.
  • Use dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor or mini chips for better distribution.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • For a nut-free version, omit nuts and add extra seeds such as pumpkin or sunflower seeds.
