Ingredients
Scale
Meatballs
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, zested and juiced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the meatballs evenly.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped cilantro, lime zest and juice, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into small, evenly sized meatballs using your hands or a scoop. This ensures uniform cooking.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the formed meatballs spaced evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased to prevent sticking.
- Bake Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). They should be slightly browned and firm to the touch.
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, substitute regular breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Use fresh lime juice and zest for the best citrus flavor.
- Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep meatballs tender.
- Serve with a side of rice, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.
- These meatballs can be frozen uncooked and baked later; just add a few minutes to the cooking time.
