Description

Enjoy a refreshing Cinnamon Iced Latte that’s easy to make at home with a homemade cinnamon syrup, your choice of coffee, and milk. This delightful beverage combines the warm spice of cinnamon with cool, smooth coffee, perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up on a warm day.

Ingredients

Scale

Cinnamon Syrup

  • 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
  • 1/2 teaspoon (approx. 1 g) ground cinnamon

Latte

  • 2 oz (1/4 cup or 60 ml) espresso or strong brewed coffee or cold brew
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk of choice (whole milk or any preferred milk such as almond, oat, or coconut)
  • Ice (amount as desired for a full tall glass)

Instructions

  1. Make cinnamon syrup: Combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until it begins simmering, whisking constantly to prevent the sugar from burning. Continue whisking until the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup is smooth.
  2. Cool the syrup: Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the cinnamon syrup to cool for about 10 minutes. Cooling prevents the hot syrup from melting the ice and diluting the drink later.
  3. Prepare coffee: Brew 2 ounces of espresso or prepare a strong coffee by your preferred method. You can also use cold brew for a smoother and less acidic flavor. Use freshly ground coffee beans for best taste.
  4. Assemble the latte: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes to your liking. Pour the cooled cinnamon syrup over the ice, followed by your choice of milk. Finally, top with the brewed coffee or espresso. Layering the ingredients helps keep the flavors distinct.
  5. Serve and garnish: Stir gently before drinking to combine all flavors thoroughly. Optionally, you can add whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for extra flair and taste.

Notes

  • Use freshly ground coffee beans for the best flavor.
  • Cold brew coffee is recommended for a smoother, less acidic taste.
  • Adjust the amount of ice to suit your preferred strength and chill level.
  • You can customize the milk choice to dairy or plant-based according to your dietary preference.
  • Optionally garnish with whipped cream or extra cinnamon for presentation.
