Tuna Salad:
- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Assembly:
- 4 slices sandwich bread (white, wheat, or your choice)
- Lettuce leaves and tomato slices for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, prepare the tuna salad: Combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, and relish if using. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
- Toast the bread: Toast the bread slices if desired.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Spread the tuna mixture over two bread slices. Top with lettuce and tomato, if desired, then close with the remaining bread slices. Slice in half and serve.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for some or all of the mayonnaise.
