Description

Delight your family and friends with these irresistible Cranberry Orange Sweet Rolls. A perfect blend of tangy cranberries and zesty orange flavors wrapped in a soft, pillowy dough, topped with a sweet orange glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

For the dough:

  • 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, egg, and salt, and stir to combine.
  2. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead by hand or with a dough hook for 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 12×16-inch rectangle.
  5. Spread the orange marmalade evenly over the surface. Mix chopped cranberries, brown sugar, and orange zest in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the marmalade.
  6. Roll up the dough into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes, or until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for 22–25 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
  9. Whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla for the glaze. Drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • You can make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate overnight before baking.
  • Dried cranberries can be used instead of fresh—just reduce the amount slightly.
  • Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for extra texture.
