Cream Cheese Swirl:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Make the Brownie Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until fully combined. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Prepare the Cream Cheese Swirl: In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  4. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is just set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let cool completely in the pan before slicing.
