Description

Indulge in the creamy goodness of this classic Cream Cheese Frosting. Perfectly sweet, tangy, and velvety, it’s the ideal topping for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.

Ingredients

Scale

Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Beat Cream Cheese and Butter: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Flavorings: Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, mixing to combine.
  3. Gradually Add Sugar: Gradually add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition until the frosting reaches your desired sweetness and consistency.
  4. Beat Until Fluffy: Continue to beat for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  5. Use or Store: Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or refrigerate for up to 3 days. Bring back to room temperature before spreading.

Notes

  • For a thicker frosting suitable for piping, use the full 4 cups of powdered sugar.
  • If too thick, add a teaspoon of milk at a time to loosen.
