Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

  • juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional for thickening)
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Cook the chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and butter. Cook the chicken breasts for 6–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic, then add chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan, lemon juice, and zest. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Thicken the sauce: If desired, add cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened.
  5. Combine and serve: Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over, and simmer briefly. Garnish with parsley before serving.
