Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, these Crispy Fried Mushrooms paired with a cool and creamy Ranch Dip are the perfect appetizer for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed

Breading:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Batter:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Breadcrumbs:

  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs

Oil for Frying:

  • Vegetable oil

Ranch Dip:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mushrooms: Pat mushrooms dry.
  2. Breading: Combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Batter: Whisk eggs and buttermilk.
  4. Breadcrumbs: Place panko in a bowl.
  5. Coat Mushrooms: Dredge in flour, dip in egg mixture, coat with breadcrumbs.
