- 2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 medium onion, diced

- 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
Seasonings:
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the Meat: Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain excess grease and transfer to a crockpot.
- Add Ingredients: Add diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the crockpot. Stir in kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth.
- Season: Add chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using). Stir to combine.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
