Ingredients

Fresh Dandelion Petals:

2 cups

Water:

2 cups

Granulated Sugar:

2 cups

Lemon Juice:

1 tbsp

Vanilla Extract (optional):

Instructions

  1. Rinse the Dandelion Petals: Thoroughly clean the dandelion petals, ensuring no green parts remain.
  2. Combine Petals and Water: In a saucepan, mix petals and water. Boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Let Steep: Remove from heat, cover, and steep for 2–3 hours or overnight.
  4. Strain the Liquid: Press and strain the liquid through a sieve or cheesecloth.
  5. Add Sugar and Lemon Juice: Return the liquid to the saucepan, add sugar and lemon juice. Simmer until thickened.
  6. Finish and Store: Remove from heat, add vanilla extract, if desired. Cool and store in a sterilized jar.
