Description

Delicious Smoothie Cubes are a convenient and nutritious way to enjoy your favorite smoothie anytime. Made with a blend of fresh fruits, vegetables, protein powder, and spirulina, these frozen cubes are perfect for quick smoothies that blend fresh and flavorful. Ideal for meal prep and reducing food waste, you simply blend the mixture, freeze in cubes, and blend again when ready to enjoy a creamy, refreshing drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 1 medium Banana (adds natural sweetness)
  • 1 medium Apple (cored and chopped)
  • 1 cup Chopped Pineapple (infuses tropical zing)

Vegetables

  • 1 cup Cauliflower Florets (sneaky vegetable addition)

Supplements

  • 1 scoop Unflavored Protein Powder (boosts protein content)
  • 1 tablespoon Spirulina Powder (adds nutrients)

Liquids & Sweeteners

  • 1 cup Orange Juice (use as the base liquid)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey, Agave, or Sugar (optional for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Peel the banana, core and chop the apple, chop the pineapple, and measure out the cauliflower florets, protein powder, spirulina powder, orange juice, and sweetener as needed.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add more orange juice incrementally to reach your desired consistency.
  3. Freeze Mixture: Pour the blended smoothie evenly into two ice cube trays. Place the trays in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours or until completely solid.
  4. Store Cubes: Once frozen solid, pop the smoothie cubes out of the trays and transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container for convenient storage and easy use later.
  5. Serve Cubes: To enjoy the smoothie, place a few cubes into a glass and cover with your choice of juice or milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften slightly.
  6. Blend and Enjoy: Blend the softened cubes with the liquid until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy your fresh, creamy smoothie instantly!

Notes

  • You can substitute orange juice with any other juice or milk for different flavor profiles.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey, agave, or sugar according to taste.
  • The cauliflower florets add nutrition without affecting the taste much; it’s a great way to sneak in vegetables.
  • Use freezer-safe containers or bags to prevent freezer burn and maintain the flavor of the cubes.
  • These cubes can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
