Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup pastel-colored sprinkles
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate eggs or candies
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Miscellaneous
- Cooking spray or extra butter for greasing
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to ensure the treats do not stick and can be removed easily once set.
- Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth, forming a sticky, sweet base.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla extract and salt into the melted marshmallow mixture for added depth of flavor. Remove the pot from the heat to prevent burning.
- Combine Cereal and Mix-ins: Quickly fold the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture until evenly coated. Gently mix in most of the pastel sprinkles and mini chocolate eggs, reserving some for decoration on top.
- Press Into Dish: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Using a greased spatula or a piece of wax paper, press the mixture evenly and firmly into the dish to form a uniform layer.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining pastel sprinkles and mini eggs on top, pressing lightly so they adhere to the surface for a colorful finishing touch.
- Cool and Serve: Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 1 hour until fully set. Cut into 16 squares and serve as a fun, festive treat.
Notes
- For softer treats, avoid pressing the mixture too firmly when spreading it into the pan.
- Drizzle melted white chocolate over the top for added sweetness and decoration.
- Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness.
