Description

Banana Bread:

  • 2 to 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas and melted butter. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually fold dry ingredients into the banana mixture. Gently fold in nuts if desired.
  5. Bake: Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
