Banana Bread:
- 2 to 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas and melted butter. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually fold dry ingredients into the banana mixture. Gently fold in nuts if desired.
- Bake: Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
