Description

Indulge in the refreshing flavors of summer with these easy berry trifle cups. Layers of moist cake, creamy pudding, and fresh berries make this dessert a delightful treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Pound Cake or Angel Food Cake:

  • 1 box pound cake or angel food cake (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh Berries:

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh raspberries

Vanilla Pudding Mixture:

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk

Whipped Topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream
  • Extra berries and mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: Whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with cold milk in a bowl for 2 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken. Gently fold in the whipped topping or whipped cream until smooth and creamy.
  2. Layer the trifle cups: Cut the pound cake into 1-inch cubes. In individual cups or jars, layer the dessert starting with cake cubes, followed by a spoonful of the pudding mixture, then a mix of berries. Repeat the layers until the cups are full, finishing with a layer of berries on top. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra whipped cream, berries, or mint if desired.

Notes

  • You can use any combination of berries or even add sliced peaches for variety.
  • These are great make-ahead treats for picnics, BBQs, or parties.
  • For extra flavor, drizzle the cake cubes with berry syrup or a splash of orange juice before layering.
