Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Sauce:
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup pepperoncini juice
- 8 to 10 pepperoncini peppers (whole or sliced)
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- ½ cup sour cream
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sear the chicken: In a skillet, sear chicken in olive oil until lightly browned.
- Slow cook: Transfer chicken to a slow cooker. Add broth, pepperoncini juice, and peppers. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2½-3 hours.
- Add cream cheese and sour cream: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add cream cheese and sour cream. Stir gently to combine.
- Serve: Shred chicken if desired and serve with sauce over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
