Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Sauce:

  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup pepperoncini juice
  • 8 to 10 pepperoncini peppers (whole or sliced)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Sear the chicken: In a skillet, sear chicken in olive oil until lightly browned.
  3. Slow cook: Transfer chicken to a slow cooker. Add broth, pepperoncini juice, and peppers. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2½-3 hours.
  4. Add cream cheese and sour cream: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add cream cheese and sour cream. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Serve: Shred chicken if desired and serve with sauce over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
