Description
This easy hot honey recipe combines the sweetness of honey with a spicy kick from red pepper flakes. Perfect for drizzling on pizza, fried chicken, or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
Honey Hot Sauce:
- 1 cup honey
- 1–2 tablespoons red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (optional, for tang)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine the honey and red pepper flakes. Heat over low heat for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the honey is thin and infused with the chili heat. Do not let it boil.
- Cool and Store: Remove from heat and let cool for 10–15 minutes. If desired, stir in apple cider vinegar for added tang. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove the flakes, or leave them in for extra kick. Pour into a clean jar or bottle and store at room temperature.
Notes
- Use fewer pepper flakes for milder honey or add a pinch of cayenne for extra heat.
- This hot honey is great on pizza, fried chicken, biscuits, or roasted vegetables. It keeps for several weeks at room temperature.
