Description

This Easy Pico de Gallo Salsa recipe is a fresh and vibrant appetizer that is quick to prepare and bursting with Mexican flavors. Perfect for dipping with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 medium white onion, finely chopped
  • 12 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, jalapeños, and cilantro.
  2. Add the lime juice and salt, then stir to mix everything well.
  3. If using garlic, stir it in at this point.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
  5. Let the salsa sit for 10–15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve fresh with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, grilled meats, or salads.

Notes

  • For a milder salsa, use only one jalapeño or substitute with a milder pepper.
  • To reduce liquid, remove tomato seeds before dicing.
  • This salsa is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
