  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 lb ground pork (or ground turkey or chicken)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (14 oz) bag coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage and carrots
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook pork: Add the ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Sauté aromatics: Add the garlic, ginger, and diced onion, and sauté for 2–3 minutes until the onion is softened.
  4. Add vegetables: Stir in the coleslaw mix and cook for 5–7 minutes until the cabbage is wilted and tender.
  5. Season and finish: Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha, stirring well to combine. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until heated through. Top with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
