Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 pound deli roast beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Au Jus:

  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté onions and beef: In a skillet, sauté the onions until soft. Add the roast beef and Worcestershire sauce, warm through, season, and remove from heat.
  3. Prepare biscuits: Flatten each biscuit, fill with beef mixture and cheese, seal, and place on the baking sheet. Brush with egg wash.
  4. Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Make au jus: Simmer all au jus ingredients in a saucepan for 5–7 minutes.
