  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)

Asparagus Mixture:

  • 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Orzo: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the orzo until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Cook Asparagus: Add asparagus, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Sauté until tender-crisp.
  4. Combine: Reduce heat, add cooked orzo, remaining butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, and reserved pasta water. Stir to combine.
  5. Finish: Sprinkle Parmesan and parsley. Toss until creamy. Serve warm.
