Ingredients
Scale
Rice:
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
Garlic Butter:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Broth and Seasonings:
- 2 cups chicken broth (or water with bouillon)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Optional Garnishes:
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Rinse the Rice: Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Cook the Rice: Stir in the rinsed rice and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, coating the grains in the garlic butter. Pour in the chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 to 18 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and stir in parsley and Parmesan if using. Serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, toast the rice a little longer before adding the broth.
- This recipe also works well with basmati or jasmine rice.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a fresh finish.
