Indulge in the deliciousness of this Golden Crispy Chicken with Parmesan Mushroom Sauce recipe that combines perfectly cooked chicken with a creamy, savory mushroom sauce. It’s a delightful dish that’s sure to impress your family and friends!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Mushroom Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces cremini or white mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts: Pound the chicken breasts to even thickness if needed.
  2. Prepare the dredging station: Set up a dredging station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko, ¼ cup Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge the chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into eggs, then coat in the panko-Parmesan mixture, pressing to adhere.
  4. Cook the chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. Prepare the mushroom sauce: In the same skillet, cook mushrooms in butter until browned. Add garlic, chicken broth, heavy cream, thyme, and Parmesan. Simmer until thickened.
  6. Finish the dish: Return the chicken to the pan, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for another 2–3 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, bake the breaded chicken at 400°F for 5–10 minutes after pan-frying.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or buttered noodles.
  • Substitute button mushrooms with shiitake or baby bella for deeper flavor.
