Description

This Grilled Kielbasa Tortellini recipe combines smoky, charred kielbasa with tender cheese tortellini and vibrant grilled bell peppers and onions, all tossed in flavorful spices and olive oil. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal, it’s garnished with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese for an extra burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 9 oz cheese tortellini, fresh or pre-packaged
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, sliced

Seasonings and Garnishes

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat to ensure it’s hot and ready for cooking the ingredients evenly.
  2. Cook the Tortellini: In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain well and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the sliced kielbasa, cooked tortellini, olive oil, sliced red and yellow bell peppers, sliced red onion, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Toss thoroughly until all ingredients are well coated with the seasonings and oil.
  4. Prepare the Grilling Basket: Lightly grease a grilling basket to prevent sticking, then transfer the kielbasa and tortellini mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  5. Grill the Mixture: Place the basket on the preheated grill and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Grill until the kielbasa is nicely charred and the vegetables are tender and cooked through.
  6. Serve: Remove the grilling basket from the heat and transfer the grilled mixture to a serving dish.
  7. Garnish and Finish: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the grilled kielbasa tortellini. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use fresh tortellini for the best texture, but pre-packaged works well too.
  • The grilling basket helps cook smaller pieces without falling through the grates.
  • Feel free to substitute kielbasa with smoked sausage or bratwurst if preferred.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, adding more paprika or garlic powder if desired.
  • For a spicier variation, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
