Description

This Ground Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry is a quick and flavorful dish that combines tender ground beef with crisp vegetables in a savory Asian-inspired sauce. Perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Ground Beef Stir-Fry:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 medium carrots, julienned

Sauce and Seasonings:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat Skillet: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook Beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add Aromatics: Add onion and garlic, cooking for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Vegetables: Add cabbage and carrots, cooking for 6–8 minutes until vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  5. Make Sauce: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for 2–3 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For a low-carb meal, serve on its own or over cauliflower rice.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of hoisin sauce or chili paste.
  • Ground turkey or pork can be substituted for beef.
