- 2 cups beef broth

- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
For the mashed potatoes:
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk (more if needed)

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Mashed Potatoes: Place potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, add salt, boil for 15–20 minutes, drain, mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Beef and Gravy: In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned, add garlic, sprinkle flour, pour in beef broth, add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Simmer until thickened.
- Serve beef and gravy over mashed potatoes.
