Description

A comforting and flavorful Ground Beef Stroganoff and Rice recipe that is easy to make and perfect for a satisfying meal any day of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

    Ground Beef Stroganoff:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • For Serving:

  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Make the Sauce: Push the beef mixture to one side of the skillet and melt the butter. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk into the butter to form a roux. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring, then add Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Finish the Dish: Reduce heat, stir in sour cream until smooth. Serve the beef stroganoff over warm rice, garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter option, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • This dish pairs well with brown rice or egg noodles.
  • Leftovers can be reheated the next day.
