Description

Indulge in the flavors of a hibachi steak dinner with these delicious and satisfying hibachi steak bowls. Tender steak bites are paired with sautéed vegetables and savory jasmine rice, topped with a drizzle of yum yum sauce for a truly satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak:

  • 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic butter (or regular butter with minced garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Bowls:

  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine or fried rice
  • 2 eggs, scrambled
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for rice)
  • 1/4 cup yum yum sauce (for topping)
  • sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, toss steak cubes with soy sauce and sesame oil. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Steak: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2–3 minutes per side. Stir in garlic butter and cook until browned. Set aside.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, cook zucchini, mushrooms, and onions for 5–6 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Scramble Eggs: In a separate pan, scramble the eggs.
  5. Prepare Rice: Add cooked rice to the skillet with eggs. Stir in soy sauce and heat through.
  6. Assemble Bowls: Serve rice, vegetables, and hibachi steak in bowls. Drizzle with yum yum sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken or shrimp for the steak.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of mirin or sake to the steak during cooking.
