Noodles:

  • 8 ounces lo mein or spaghetti noodles
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Beef:

  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin (thinly sliced against the grain)

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Vegetables:

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)

Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)

Garnish:

  • sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles: Cook noodles according to package directions, drain, rinse, and toss with sesame oil.
  2. Prepare the beef: Toss sliced beef with cornstarch. Cook in a skillet until browned; set aside.
  3. Stir-fry: Cook garlic, ginger, broccoli, and bell pepper. Make sauce with hoisin, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, and red pepper. Add noodles, beef, and sauce to skillet; toss to combine.
