Ingredients
Pancake Buns:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Additional:
- 4 breakfast sausage patties
- 4 large eggs
- 4 slices American cheese
- butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- Pancake Buns: Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cooking: Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Pour small rounds of batter to make pancake buns. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Cook sausage patties until browned and cooked through.
In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and maple syrup. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
In the same skillet, cook eggs to your preference. Assemble each McGriddle by layering pancake, cheese, sausage patty, egg, and another pancake on top. Serve warm with maple syrup.
