Chicken:
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
Sauce:
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and vinegar. Set aside.
- Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken with black pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the honey garlic sauce and simmer. Mix cornstarch and water in a bowl, then stir into the sauce. Simmer until thickened.
- Combine: Return chicken to the skillet, toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve: Enjoy hot over rice, noodles, or vegetables.
Notes
- For added spice, include 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
