Description

These Kids’ Lunch Pizza Roll Ups are a fun and easy twist on classic pizza, perfect for a quick and delicious meal or snack. Made with flaky crescent roll dough, marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, pepperoni, and a flavorful Parmesan herb topping, these roll ups bake to golden perfection in just under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Roll Ups

  • 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 slices pepperoni
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray and set it aside to prepare for baking.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles for rolling.
  3. Spread Sauce: Spread approximately 1 tablespoon of marinara or pizza sauce over each crescent dough triangle evenly.
  4. Add Cheese: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauced area of each triangle to add melty goodness.
  5. Layer Pepperoni: Place two slices of pepperoni at the wide end of each crescent triangle for a classic pizza flavor.
  6. Roll Up: Carefully roll up each crescent starting from the wide end and rolling toward the pointed tip to enclose the fillings.
  7. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet leaving some space between each to allow even baking.
  8. Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, combine grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and garlic powder; sprinkle this mixture evenly over the tops of each roll-up.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crescent rolls turn golden brown and the cheese inside melts thoroughly.
  10. Serve: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Optionally, provide extra marinara sauce for dipping to enhance the flavor.

Notes

  • Make sure to space out the roll ups on the baking sheet for even cooking and browning.
  • Use fresh or leftover marinara sauce depending on your availability for best taste.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit pepperoni and add more veggies or cheese as preferred.
  • These roll ups can be made ahead and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • Serve with a side of fresh veggies or fruit for a balanced kid-friendly meal.
