  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Mashed Potato Layer:

  • 3 cups mashed potatoes (prepared and seasoned)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare meatloaf layer: Mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Press into the baking dish and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  3. Prepare mashed potato layer: Make mashed potatoes with butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Spread over the cooked meatloaf.
  4. Add topping: Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
  5. Final bake: Bake for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
