Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a loaf pan or 9×9 baking dish.
  2. Prepare the meatloaf: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and ketchup. Mix until just combined. Press the meat mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  3. Add the toppings: Remove from the oven and spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the partially cooked meatloaf. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes until fully cooked.
