Description

These mini apple pies are the perfect bite-sized dessert for any occasion. Filled with a delicious spiced apple filling and encased in a flaky crust, they are sure to be a hit with everyone.

Pie Crusts:

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)

Apple Filling:

  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

Others:

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare muffin tin: Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a muffin tin.
  2. Prepare crusts: Roll out pie crusts and cut circles to fit muffin cups.
  3. Make apple filling: Melt butter in a skillet, add apples, sugars, spices, lemon juice, and flour. Cook until thickened.
  4. Fill crusts: Spoon apple filling into crusts. Add lattice tops if desired.
  5. Bake: Brush tops with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar, and bake until golden brown.
  6. Cool and serve: Let cool before serving with whipped cream or ice cream.

  • Granny Smith apples work best for tartness, but you can use a mix for added flavor.
