Caramel:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
French Toast:
- 1 loaf French bread (cut into 1-inch slices)
- 5 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For Serving:
- Powdered sugar and fresh berries (optional)
Instructions
- Caramel: In a small saucepan, melt brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup until smooth. Pour into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- French Toast: Arrange bread over caramel. Whisk eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, and salt; pour over bread. Refrigerate overnight.
- Remove from fridge, wait 20–30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set. Cool, invert, dust with sugar, and serve with berries.
